‘NHS Wales App’

We are pleased to announce that you can now access health services from St David’s Street Surgery and Llwynypia Surgery on the new NHS Wales App.

The App is a simple and secure way to order repeat prescriptions. To access the App you must have a fully verified NHS Login, or a valid photo ID to prove who you are and be aged 16 or over.

How do set up and use the NHS Wales App?

How do I login?

To use the NHS Wales App you must be registered with a GP in Wales. You can access NHS Wales services such as NHS 111 Wales health advice and blood and organ donation using the App.

We offer a wide range of enhanced services to ensure that all your care needs are met. See some of our most popular medical services below.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy appointments are available on a Wednesday, Thursday & Friday morning at our Treharris Surgery and may be either pre-booked or, subject to availability, on the same day.

Contraception Advice

We provide advice to help with family planning. This includes coils, implants and contraception for our patients.

Joint and Tissue Injections

To ease arthritic and rheumatic pains including knee, shoulder, elbow, hip, back, thumb, trigger finger and carpal tunnel.

General Practice Support Officers (GPSOs)

General practice support officers (GPSO’s) and MIND practioners are available most days to support your emotional and psychological well-being.

Shared Care

We provide prescriptions for medicines that are usually only prescribed by a hospital consultant. These medications often require regular monitoring of blood tests, which we also provide.

INR Monitoring and Anticoagulation

We provide a full service for anticoagulation, including commencement and initiation of direct oral anticoagulants (DOAC’s) and Warfarin initiation and monitoring.

Minor surgery

Medically indicated removal of skin and subcutaneous lesions such as cysts, boils and lipomas (note cosmetic procedures are not covered under NHS).
