Dr Glyn is a female GP, who has been with the practice since Jan 2013. She has an interest in chronic disease management. She is a fluent Welsh speaker and is happy to consult in Welsh. Dr Glyn works in the practice 2 days per week.

Dr Hannaford is a female GP, who has been with the practice since 2021. She has interests in General Medicine and Women’s Health. She works 3 days per week.
DR Sammy Mahbouba
Dr Mahbouba is male GP who initially joined the practice as a registrar in 2018, and is now a permanent member of staff. Dr Mahbouba works in the practice 3 days per week.

Dr Prema is a female GP. She started working in the practice in 2022 and works 3 days per week.

GP Registrars

As a training practice we have GP Registrars working in the practice. These are fully qualified doctors who are training to become GPs. The GP Registrars will change every 6 or 12 months.

Nurses

Our highly qualified nurses deal with a range of conditions and health concerns. They examine patients, make a diagnosis and plan care, including prescribing certain products. They are experts in many areas of disease management such as Diabetes, COPD, Asthma, Women’s Health, Travel Vaccinations.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants are important members of the practice team who work under the supervision of a qualified nurse. They can take blood, check blood pressure, test urines, perform ECG’s, perform spirometry testing, are able to carry out wound care and assist with minor surgery.

Reception

Our reception staff are here to help you. They answer the telephones, deal with enquiries and take repeat prescriptions. Their job is very demanding so please be patient. We currently have 20 reception and administrative staff at the practice.

What Services We Offer

We offer a wide range of enhanced services to ensure that all your care needs are met. See some of our most popular medical services below.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy appointments are available every day and may be either pre-booked or, subject to availability, on the same day.

CDAT – Drug and Alcohol Misuse Support

We host an outreach clinic for the Community Drug and Alcohol Team, supervising prescriptions for opiate replacement therapy for our patients.

General Practice Support Officers (GPSOs)

Physiotherapy appointments are available every day and may be either pre-booked or, subject to availability, on the same day.

Shared Care

We provide prescriptions for medicines that are usually only prescribed by a hospital consultant. These medications often require regular monitoring of blood tests, which we also provide.

INR Monitoring

INR clinics are held on Tuesday and Friday mornings at Ivor Street Surgery for those patients on warfarin.

Anticoagulation

We provide a full service for anticoagulation, including commencement and initiation of Direct Oral Anticoagulants (DOACs) and Warfarin initiation and monitoring.
